Happyness :)
Hiya,
Music today: none so far - too early!
well I have now had 2 days free from any consciousness altering substances, just like I said I would! I'm well chuffed. Look how early I'm awake! Got up @ 8:45 (grudgingly) to get an article from my supervisor. cold has cleared a bit but might try & have another night off tonight but with Fraiser coming back this afternoon & Niles working in the pub later, well I can see things going wrong with that plan.
Last night was nice, Julie was back having been absent all summer so we had a good chat (well, I talked & she was polite!) I love catching up with friends, I must do it more often. And as she left a Sex in the City double bill was just getting going so I went to bed a tired, but happy man.
Steph's 21st birthday today, happy birthday, she's going to be all alone though (with a bit of Johnny Depp for company so I'm led to believe). - that ended up a bit oxymoronic didn't it?
Right, another huge 21st to come over the weekend, more on that after it's happened I suspect, look forward to me reciting all the stupid things I did whilst off my whatsits.

p.s. don't think I'm bursting too many bubbles when I say remember everyone's name is changed! Sadly my housemates are not called Niles and Fraiser in real life. Wish they were though, would be quite cool I think!
Term looms
Hiya,
Music today: The Atari's, Blink 182, Garbage, Greenday
Well it feels like term is just around the corner, cant wait to try and get this article Thursday morning so I can finish my last essay and get them handed in. Niles has a couple of days off work so we got wasted last night and I didn't surface properly today until 12:55 pm. Niles says he's proud of me for lying in bed so late. Think I'm going to have a few nights off though. Been getting wasted consistently for a week now and am very ill and prone to bad headaches. Mariokart arrived today so that has been our N64 game of choice since we got up, it is possibly still the best multiplayer game ever despite being 8 years old.

Hiya,
Music today: The Libertines
I can't believe my computer back at the house has just gone completely awol. Some file got itself corrrupted, how useful. I'm trying to enlist my computer scientist friends to help me out. Situation is not good though. Niles and I got wasted again last night and after Match of The Day a heavy session of F-Zero X ensued. Needless to say our heads were fried at the speeds that game goes at. It was however immense fun. Throat feeling really sore, don't think tonight will be more getting wasted, might have to give my body a night off.

Days go by
Hiya,
Music today: Dylan, Delays
Blimey what a mad couple of days since getting back to york! I havent stopped. Got back at 1 in the afternoon wednesday, was wasted within a short space of time & swore ridiculous amounts, all of which I'm going to have to pay for thanks to the genius of the swear jar. Bummer. But its really good seeing my housemate Niles again (I think I'm going to call my housemates Niles & Fraiser in a desperate attempt to inject some amusement into my life, er I mean this blog). Went to a house party last night with loads of Norwegian (spelt?) people, it was absolutely insane. We got them all wasted, which was quite good fun but then I think I over did it, got a nasty headache & went home about 2 & havent seen Niles since! Who knows where he's gone, don't think he had work today.
Also the N64 is awesome, it arrived Wednesday just before I did & have achieved very little but reaquainting myself with Goldeneye, ah those were the days, if only I could be 15 again :)
Round Will's last night writing song words with Adele our singer and I think it went well, though she isn't convinced, we still haven't had a practice with all four of us in the room yet and 4 months till Battle of the Bands auditions, crumbs. Ah it will be grand. After that I started to write something of my own but ran a bit astray with words, is there nothing left that hasn't been sacrificed to cliche that you can sing about any more?
Right, going to go home, have a bath and read my book :)

Where does the time go?
Hiya,
Music today: The Music, Muse, Badly Drawn Boy, The Strokes, The Libertines
Apologies for not writing yesterday, I accidently blinked & missed it. Great fun was had downloading lots of Muse! Have 6 videos & most of the b sides plus some live recordings. I'm happy to say the least. Today was spent recovering from last night (more on that in a second) seeing my old friend Rob and playing around on the pc. So it's been pretty enjoyable but yeah, last night . . . well it all started when I called Jack hoping to catch up with him before I return up north tomorrow. We were just going to meet up and go to my local for a pint or two, easy. But then Katie came down and two turned into three turned . . .
Then we had a lock in as we're very good friends with the at-the-moment owners and basically it all added up to me having a pretty heavy head this morning :( But it was absolutely fantastic catching up with everyone, haven't had that much fun since the apple bobbing. Spent loads of money I didn't have and well, that made it more fun really. Now I'm really skint! But then I'm a student, am I not suppose to be? Next time I write will be in York, how exciting. I'm sure my train ride I'll be telling you about tomorrow will be really interesting.

The Evening After The Evening Before
Hiya,
Music today: Ed Harcourt, Delays, U2, Led Zepplin, Various house & trance
So last night was as messy as expected. We all got absolutely wrecked, then went apple bobbing! It was in fact the most fun we have had in ages, I strongly recommend it. It's particualr fun when your really wasted, watching other people making a fool of themsleves and then you promptly doing the same :) It is seriously refreshing if done about 1 in the morning, and you get an apple to satisfy the munchies! What more could you ask for really?!? (See photo's below) More to the point Steve had a good birthday party, which is what it was all about in the first place. Got to see John too, who I haven't seen in ages :)
Also got a gig playing Dan and Jeanine's leaving party before they go away travelling round the world. Another messy night of drum n bass, old skool and hardcore is guarenteed. More on that nearer the time though I guess.
Spent this morning recovering while mum shouted at me to do some housework (which I did, eventually, do) then had Sunday diner with the family, always a pleasure. Dicussed what I was going to do with my life after uni, ALWAYS a pleasure (couldn't wait for that one to finish). Then went over to my cousin's. Watched X-Men 2, which was quite good then had a nice mix on his too-good-for-this-planet turntables (and that's where the various house and trance has come from), which was, I'm sure, more fun for us than his neighbours. Then swiftly returned home to update this blog! Which I feel has been done successfully :)

Knackered
Hiya,
Music today: Dylan, Damien Rice
Yikes another busy day, mum shouting at me as I type to get stuff done. Going out for a meal with dad tonight, after the one yesterday with mum, which was successful. Went to my cousin's afterwards and watched Starsky & Hutch for the first time. That was pretty funny :) So yeah, then its on to the party where apparently things should be getting messy. I dread to imagine, and with only 5 cans of beer to my name, it could be interesting watching everyone get considerably more drunk than me. What good fun :) Hopefully I'll be sober enough to get some good photos!
Well, at least Sunday dinner with the family tomorrow should be interesting. Will let you know how toninght goes.

What a day!
hiya,
Music today: The Music, Delays
Blimey what a nightmare! Today has been both fun and frustrating. Basically got up sooooo early! 8:30 might seem a joke to everyone whose ever had a job but to me that's really early! Even my dad commented how early it was when I phoned him at 9! Anyway, got a new phone but had to see my friend in the next town down the road where he works. So getting the train there was fine, the way back was not. Turned out I'd got the wrong train and had to get my mum to come out in her lunch break & pick me up where to train had deposited me 5 miles out of town, oops :(
Never mind, I had the chance to read this next book for my dissertation, Jameson's 'Cultural Logic of Late Capitalism'. A classic by all accounts. I think this site may at times turn into sociological ranting when I've been thinking about a specific issue (this, I warn you, happens an awful lot). But we shall see. I was just thinking today though, in amidst all the long words that, at the end of the day, some of the issues Postmodernism is trying to debate, require neither long words or PhD. Its just what you think is going on in the world at the moments and the methods for exploring it. I nearly forgot that as I was reading the introduction, which nearly got me very confused. But I made it out the other end (of the intro that is) and have plowed head first into the first chapter on culture. More on that as I read more I'm sure - don't say I didn't warn you!
Right better leave off there, have to go and work on this chord progression for my next song, I'm nearly there and I have some ideas for lyrics so we'll see. Off to dinner with my mum tonight also, then to see my cousin for a drinking session. It may be a bleary eyed update you get sometime tomorrow.

The Morning after the Night Before (or not)
hiya,
music today: Dylan, Keane, The Bees
well last nite wasn't as spectacualr as I'd envisaged. First of all we were going to the pub then we weren't, and then we didn't. So just went to Steve's house as it was his birthday! Got a bit wasted, apparently the REAL party is this Saturday night, so only have to fit that and a meal with my dad in, fine, fine. But last night was pleasant enough, stayed up playing Halo on his XBox while his girlfriend went to sleep on her new sofa! All in all a quiet afair, but an enjoyable one. I haven't seen either him or his g/f since I was last down in Suffolk, and that was mid-August! Then James and Katie turned up from the pub (a different one to where we weere spose to be going) and I surprised them as I realised at the time I'd rather politely not told them I was back home in Sufolk, oops. But it was all good, had the first compliment from James about my 'new haircut', that is I'd shaved it all off a couple of weeks ago; which was nice. He said I looked like Brad Pitt at the end of 'Fightclub'! Possibly the funniest thing I will ever hear: a comparison between me & Brad Pitt, oh dear.
Saturday will also be the last time I see everyone before Christmas as, hopefully I'll have a job interview & I'll be heading back to York to start drinking (read: preparing) for the new term and the new year! All very exciting, looking forward to Saturday though (just about keeping in the present).

Sheffield and Back
Hiya,
Music today: Keane, Beth Orton
so just had a really busy day or two. Having travelled from York to Suffolk on Sunday evening, Tom suggested we travel to Sheffield and Selby to see our other friend Sarah & his grandparents! So late last night off we went & I promptly found myself in the north of the country a bit sooner than I might otherwise have expected. Oh well. So we had fun in Sheffield last night, got quite wasted and it was all good fun. Her new bedroom floor was even quite comfy to sleep on :) Then another long car journey over yesterday to various parts of Yorkshire then back here to Suffolk.
Well it's my frined's 21st celebrations tonight, the first of many (including my own!) to come over this following year. We'll be in the pub, anything could happen, and I dread to imagine what I'll be writing here tomorrow . . .

*all my friends names have been changed, but will remain consistent, so if I talk about a Tom tomorrow it will be the same guy
In the beginning there was . . .
Hi,
so first post & I'm not actually in York! Well it is the holidays :) Almost finished the 20,000 words I had to write over summer so enjoying a bit of time off at my family home at last. I guess this will really get going come term time in October but I'll keep up on what's going on in the time leading up to the craziness that is Fresher's week.
